What Is Anhedonia?

There are two types of anhedonia. The first is physical anhedonia when someone cannot enjoy physical sensations like a physical touch from another person or food taste. The other one is social anhedonia, which is when someone cannot appreciate the company of other people.

Both types of anhedonia can be signs of depression, physical health conditions, or other mental conditions, and preferred to take behavior or physical therapy to make the state better.

 

Signs Of Social Anhedonia

Social anhedonia is more prevalent than its physical counterpart. However, it is not comparable to social anxiety, introversion, resentment, or negative feelings about social situations. Instead, anhedonia refers to a missing capacity for enjoyment.

VNS can treat depression in people who are not responding to other treatments.
